The In-Country/In-Region Scholarship Programme

Sub-Saharan Africa is a programme with the mission of strengthening the higher education system in Sub-saharan Africa so that students from Africa will be able to contribute to the sustainable development of their various regions.

Managed by DAAD and funded by The German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the board grants scholarships to African students who are applying to study for a development-based Master’s or PhD degree. The doctoral courses for example are expected to be for the purpose of teaching or doing research.
